Pixels,
centimetres,
300 DPI.
Two questions, one calculation. How large your image can print, and how many pixels the size you want demands. Everything is worked out here, nothing is sent anywhere.
The maths: pixels = inches × DPI. One inch is 2.54 cm.

What your image allows, format by format
The density shown is the one actually reached once the image is cropped to the format's aspect ratio. The short side decides.

Three things this calculator cannot see
The DPI written in the file does not count
An image can be labelled 72 DPI and print a 24 inch poster perfectly. Only the pixel count decides, and the label is fixed on export in one second. Details here.
Pixels are not detail
A file enlarged by plain interpolation shows the right pixel count and stays soft. The calculator says yes, the eye says no.
Aspect ratio is paid for at the crop
Square into 3:4 sacrifices a quarter of the image. The density column above accounts for it; the raw formula does not.
Short on pixels?
The workshop upscales inside your browser and writes a 300 DPI file in a size print shops sell. Its interface is in French for now.
